On Tuesday, May 5th, we hosted “Carriere a Confronto: Private Equity vs Venture Capital” at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, an evening dedicated to exploring the different dynamics of Private Equity and Venture Capital and how both industries contribute to building stronger and more competitive businesses.
We were honored to welcome four outstanding speakers:
Giampiero Mazza — Managing Partner, CVC
Roberto Ippolito — Head of Investment & Managing Director, Clessidra Group
Francesco Zambelli — VC Investor, 360 Capital
Giuseppe Donvito — Partner, P101
The discussion explored the real mechanics of value creation. On one side, PE, where value is driven by operational improvement, governance, and disciplined execution. On the other, VC, an ecosystem built around disruptive technologies, scalability, and visionary founders capable of reshaping entire industries.
A key focus was also placed on the evolution of the Italian market. The discussion highlighted how Private Equity in Italy has reached a significant level of maturity, while exit horizons are becoming longer, reflecting a more complex environment and a stronger focus on long-term value creation.
Perhaps the strongest takeaway was the human side of investing: behind every deal, beyond every spreadsheet, it is ultimately people, vision, and execution that make the difference.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such a stimulating conversation.
